I accept been actually feeling cornball for some reason lately.

He had absolutely no desire to augment his horizons, or expand his pallet. And so any "wild" dishes or ingredients were limited to what my Mom would fix for herself. Oh, she would try to get me to eat them too, but I was a Daddy'southward girl and if he wouldn't eat them, I certain wasn't going to.

Fast forward a uummmm few years. I am at present a food blogger, with a pretty picky eater of my own.

Oh, he is non in the realm of my Dad kind of picky, but picky non the less. He is really more of a complainer.

Then many of you accept asked for more wearisome cooker recipes, and I am really starting to go into coming up with them. I have gone from a random few times a year slow cooker girl, to what sometimes feels like a rabid "I take to melt everything in my slow cooker" person.

On this 24-hour interval, with thoughts of my Dad playing in my caput, I decided to become with a flashback, hoping that Kevin would savor information technology. And so when he got upwards and came downstairs request what I was making for dinner (the house smelled astonishing), I cautiously said that I was making beef stroganoff. I used port wine to make this recipe over the top incredible. I knew it would be expert because I use port in my Foam of Mushroom Soup, and it is astonishing, so I had to utilise it in this ane. I know it might seem similar a random ingredient to buy, but it is sooooo worth it. So please please please don't leave it out!

Wearisome Cooker Beef Stroganoff with Port Wine

This Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff is everything you want it to be. Creamy bites of beef, with bawdy mushrooms, made ultra luxurious with the addition of port wine. Information technology blows all other beef stroganoff recipes away!!

INGREDIENTS:


  • 3 pounds Certified Angus Beef ® brand stew beefiness
  • ane/2 cup all-purpose flour

  • three tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 large onion, chopped

  • four cloves garlic, minced
  • i 1/2 cup beef stock
  • 1/ii cup port wine (I used a tawny port)
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • ane tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves, chopped (or 2 teaspoons dried)
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • Kosher salt
  • Fresh cracked black pepper
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, cut into chunks
  • one loving cup sour cream
  • 1/ii cup fresh parsley leaves, chopped
  • Cooked egg noodles

INSTRUCTIONS


  1. Toss beef in a large bowl, with salt, pepper, and flour until well coated.
  2. Oestrus olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat, and the meat to brown in batches. Don't overcrowd the skillet. Transfer to 6-quart deadening cooker, forth with any flour that remains in the basin.
  3. Deglaze skillet with the beefiness stock and port, making sure to scrape upward all of the browned bits of meat from the bottom of the skillet. Next, add the dijon mustard and Worcestershire. Pour into the slow cooker.
  4. In the aforementioned skillet add together butter, sauté onions, mushrooms, and garlic until softened, about v minutes. Place in the slow cooker.
  5. Add the thyme, paprika, and table salt and pepper to the slow cooker. Stir, embrace and cook on low for half dozen to 8 hours, or high 4 to 5 hours.
